Description:
Evaluation of effectiveness of Bertieonline as an education tool for people with type 1 diabetes.
The aim of this study is to ascertain whether we can demonstrate benefit in terms of improvement in quality of life, hypoglycaemia and overall diabetes control by use of the Bertieonline platform.

Inclusion Criteria:
Type 1 diabetes duration >12 months (to exclude Honeymoon period when endogenous insulin secretion may still be present).
Comfortable access to the internet and computer/ mobile phone technology.
Ability to comprehend written English and the study information.
Aged 18 years or older.
Not completed formal education course within 1 year.

Exclusion Criteria:
Failure to comply with any of the inclusion criteria as defined in section A17-1.
Patients under 18 years of age.
Unable to provide informed consent.
Unable to access the internet.
Less than 12 months duration of Type 1 Diabetes.
